Chester Wojcik | President

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Chet grew up with a passion for the outdoors, becoming an Eagle Scout at the age of 18. He was introduced to hunting by a good friend, and they spent time hunting whitetail. This friend mentored him on the use of both a longbow and a recurve bow.

More recently, Chet expanded his interests into big game in other countries. A chance meeting with an individual from SCI National in Nashville introduced him to the Safari Club International (SCI) group, inspiring him with their efforts in conservation, education, and humanitarianism.

Chet is an active member and President of the Battleground Chapter, committed to helping SCI achieve its mission.

Bill Shouse | Vice President

Originating from Manassas, Virginia, Bill developed a lifelong passion for hunting through his father and brother-in-law. This introduction ignited his dedication to pursuing whitetail deer, bears, turkeys, and, more recently, a diverse array of big game species. Despite his hunting enthusiasm, Bill continues to enjoy both freshwater and saltwater fishing while pursuing game fish.

Joining SCI gave Bill the opportunity to expand his knowledge of hunting opportunities. However, he quickly connected with the organization’s broader mission. Motivated by SCI’s conservation work and advocacy efforts, Bill became an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

He currently serves as the Vice President of the newly established Battleground Chapter in Central Virginia, where he is actively involved in shaping its mission, leadership, and future impact.

Tim.jpg
Tim Holden | Secretary

Tim grew up in the far suburbs of Buffalo, New York. His dad introduced him and his two brothers to fishing at an early age, and to hunting as a young teenager. With a deep interest and love for the outdoors, Tim attended the University at Buffalo and then Drexel University, earning both bachelor's and master's degrees in environmental science.

He initially hunted in New York for pheasants, rabbits, ruffed grouse, and whitetail deer. His career led him to Delaware and then to Virginia, where he continued to fish and hunt locally at every opportunity.

Tim primarily hunts whitetail deer and began bowhunting about 35 years ago. He also hunts rabbits and turkey. He recently joined SCI because two of his friends are active members, and he wanted to learn more about SCI's conservation efforts while potentially expanding his hunting interests to other big game.

He is helping those two friends start a new local SCI chapter and currently serves as Secretary for the new Battleground Chapter in Central Virginia.

Michele.jpg
Michele Wojcik  | Treasurer

Michele Wojcik currently serves as Treasurer of the Battleground Chapter of Safari Club International. She is a graduate of UConn School of Law and practices insurance litigation. She is admitted to the Bar in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Virginia.

Michele has attended the Safari Club International Convention for the past two years and is actively involved at the chapter level, supporting the Annual Banquet as well as other chapter events.

Her passion for hunting and the outdoors has taken her to Scotland and Spain for big game hunting, and she looks forward to continuing that journey this year with her first safari in South Africa, along with additional big game hunting in Italy.

Through her work with the Battleground Chapter, Michele supports SCI’s mission of conservation, education, advocacy, and preserving hunting traditions for future generations.

Tony.jpeg
Tony Brubaker | Board Member

He harvested his first whitetail deer in 1970, beginning a lifelong connection to hunting and the outdoors. Over the years, that passion has grown into a deep appreciation for wildlife conservation, ethical hunting, and the role hunters play in preserving outdoor traditions.

He joined Safari Club International in 2010 and has remained actively involved in the organization’s mission ever since. Today, he is proud to be an SCI Life Member and an Official Measurer, helping recognize and document exceptional big game animals while supporting SCI’s broader commitment to conservation, advocacy, and education.

His most recent trophy reflects not only the excitement of the hunt, but also the years of experience, respect for wildlife, and dedication to responsible hunting that continue to guide him.

OUR MISSION:

The Battleground Chapter of Safari Club International exists to protect the freedom to hunt, promote ethical hunting and fishing, and support wildlife conservation through education, advocacy, and service.

As part of SCI, we believe hunters and fishermen play a vital role in responsible wildlife management, habitat conservation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. Through local programs and fundraising efforts, our chapter supports conservation projects, outdoor education, humanitarian service, and the preservation of our hunting heritage for future generations.
